With an increasing body of work that
includes television, film, comedy, and writing;
Amanda Ireton is emerging as one of Hollywood's most
versatile personalities. She is a comedic
commentator for MTV and writes for MTV.com. She is
featured as "Miss November" in the 2009 Sexiest
Women of Reality TV Calendar. Her most recent film
"My Foreign Desh" was nominated, and debuted at the
New York Film Festival.
Amanda was a finalist on MTV's hit reality series, "A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila”. She has appeared on MTV's "Hang Over Show" and "That's Amore", WETV's "Secret Lives of Women", CCTV's "The Rack", and Entertainment Television's "The Soup" and "Extra".
Amanda has captured audiences with her regular stand-up at the Comedy Store, Improv, Comedy Club, Room 5 and Comedy Union. She will be opening for Margaret Cho and Dinah Shore 2009 later this year.
Additionally, Amanda is actively involved with The Phoenix Center, an organization which provides quality HIV/AIDS care, prevention, and education to the community as well as support, counseling, and referrals for the GLBTQ community in an atmosphere free from judgment and discrimination of any kind. She regularly travels the globe as a guest speaker to high schools and colleges on topics such as drugs, alcohol, sex, sexuality, and social dynamics.
She co-owns the clothing line MAVRX. MAVRX is a grassroots company that is closely tied to community. Apparel items are donated to Volunteers of America on a regular basis. Volunteers of America is a national, nonprofit based organization dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential. This service has supported and empowered America's most vulnerable groups, including at-risk youth, the frail elderly, men and women returning from prison, homeless individuals and families, people with disabilities, and those recovering from addictions. MAVRX also donates a percentage of their profits to the American Cancer Society, Inc. and also supports Skate4Cancer. Skate4Cancer's mission is to cure cancer through education that leads to prevention.
A regular host for Red Carpet Talk, Amanda interviewed a list of stars at the premiere of the hit movie "What Stays in Vegas" and was a guest interviewer for CBS' reality show "Big Brother" the finale special. Amanda also gives radio and Web interviews and can be seen appearing as a celebrity guest on television, at comedy clubs, night clubs, and red carpet events.
